London man jailed for child sex offences

A London man has been jailed for child sexual offences, following a SEROCU investigation.

Igor Kutsyy, aged 38, of Mill Harbour, Isle of Dogs, was on Friday (13/12) jailed for a total of three years at Guildford Crown Court in Surrey.

He had previously been found guilty in October of six charges, comprising:

  • One count of attempting to arrange or facilitate the commission of a child sex offence;
  • One count of distributing an indecent photograph or pseudo-photograph of a child;
  • One count of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child;
  • Three counts of making indecent images of a child.

Kutsyy was arrested on 21 December 2018 at Cobham Services, Surrey, where he had travelled from his home address intending to meet and sexually abuse a seven-year-old child. Upon arriving at the service station he was arrested by officers from SEROCU.

Our priority is to protect children at risk of sexual exploitation from those who seek to do them harm. It’s vitally important to apprehend those looking to abuse children and the sentence reflects the seriousness of Kutsyy’s offences.

If anyone has been a victim of child sexual abuse, or thinks a child is being abused, I would urge you to report it to your local police force via 101. We will always follow up allegations of abuse, no matter when they occurred. Victims can talk in confidence to experienced Investigators and we can also help them get access to a range of other support services.
